In addition to being the founder and the President Emeritus of the Long Island Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (www.licfe.org), and its current Vice President of Membership, he is a three term Past President and the President Emeritus of the Society of Professional Investigators, as well as the Vice President and Membership Chairman of the Metropolitan Security Council of Greater New York (www.mscnylp.org). David E. Zeldin is a Licensed Private Investigator in NY/NJ & FL. Mr. Zeldin is also a Management Consultant in the areas of Forensic Computer Analysis, Physical Security, Loss Prevention, Risk Management and Fraud, with a specialty in Employee Dishonesty, and Intelligence Gathering within a company, at all levels of business. Personally, David E. Zeldin enjoys a diverse educational background with undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Marketing (Cum Laude) and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. [A.S., Nassau Community College, 1/73; B.S., Cum Laude, Fairleigh Dickinson University, 5/75; M.P.S., Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus, 10/77). In 1976, David was inducted into the Phi Omega Epsilon Honor Society and in 1977, he was inducted into the Criminal Justice Honor Society, Alpha Phi Sigma. David E. Zeldin is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Fraud Consultant, a Certified Security & Safety Consultant, Certified in Homeland Security-Level III, a Diplomate in the American Board of Forensic Examiners, a Life Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners International, a past member of the Executive Board of Advisors on the American Board of Law Enforcement Experts, as well as a Life Member of the Chief Executive Officers Club (www.ceoclubs.org).
David Zeldin has spent more than forty years working throughout the investigation, law enforcement and security fields. After working as a Security Guard and Store Detective, during college, David became a Regional Security Director, at age 22 (Rickel Home Centers). During the next six years David worked in retail corporate security (A & S Department Stores, Brooklyn, NY), industrial and trucking company investigations (White Rose Foods, Farmingdale, NY), as well as undercover and insurance investigations and supervision (Management Safeguards, Inc, New York, NY). He then spent five years as a Special Investigator and Bonded Deputy Sheriff, in Suffolk County (NY), specializing in Welfare Fraud. [1980 – 1985] At the same time, he obtained his first Private Investigator's License and founded Asset Protection Corporation, which later grew into APC Corporate Security, Inc., (www.apcsecurity.com) a multi-state, multi faceted investigative and security organization.
In January 1999, after spending more than eighteen years expanding and growing his businesses, Mr. Zeldin merged the APC organization with INVESTICORP, INC., (www.investicorp.com) then APC's primary competitor. In 2001, David Rose International, Inc. was formed to handle International Intellectual Property investigations and consulting, as well as becoming the agency of record in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Zeldin became the Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as President of INVESTICORP's corporations in NY, CT and FL. In 2005, Mr. Zeldin became the 100% owner and CEO of Investicorp, Inc. and David Rose International, Inc., while retaining ownership of the APC organization.
Mr. Zeldin was one of the first Certified New York State Security Guard Instructors and has served on the faculties of Jersey City State College and Long Island University, where he was an Adjunct Professor, from 1980 - 1997. Mr. Zeldin is a co-author of Security Design and Premises Protection, in McGraw-Hill's First Edition (1981) of the Criminal and Civil Investigation Handbook, and Undercover Investigations and Sting Operations in the Private Sector in the Second Edition (1992). He is also listed in Who's Who in American Law Enforcement, Who's Who in U.S. Executives and in the Outstanding Young Men of America (1982).
David Zeldin is a Retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Civil Air Patrol (USAFA) where he served as Chief Investigator and Deputy Inspector General of New York Wing, from 1975 - 1995. He is also an NRA Certified Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun Instructor and an Associate Member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors.
Mr. Zeldin has been a member of ASIS International (www.asisonline.org) formerly known as the American Society for Industrial Security, since 1976, where he has held national and local positions, including the National Investigations Standing Committee and Chapter Chairman. David currently serves the Long Island Chapter as Legislative and Government Liaison. He is a past president of the Associated Licensed Detectives of New York State (ALDONYS) as well as the current License Enforcement and Information Chairman, and Person of the Year Dinner Chairman. Mr. Zeldin represents ALDONYS and the investigation industry, as a member of the Legislative Committee of the International Association of Security and Investigative Regulators (IASIR). David was also the Region 2 Director and 2008 Conference Chairman of the National Council of Investigation and Security Services. David is a member of both the Long Island and New York City chapters of the American Academy for Professional Law Enforcement (www.aapleli.org) and a member of the Nassau County Police Security Advisory Council, which advises S.P.I.N., the Security Police Information Network. David is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Chapter of InfraGard, in partnership with the FBI. David is also a Member of the National Association of Chiefs of Police (NACOP), Nassau County Police Reserves, Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE), National Law Enforcement Associates, International Counter-Terrorism Officers Association, International Institute of Security and Safety Management, High Technology Crime Investigation Association, National Association of Investigative Specialists, National League of Licensed Investigators, and a Charter Member of the United States Association of Professional Investigators. David was a Gubernatorial Appointee and served for the first four years of the existence of the NYS Security Guard Advisory Council [2/93 – 12/96]. Mr. Zeldin was the Secretary of the New Jersey Licensed Private Investigators Association, through May, 2002. (NJLPIA), and is a current member.
Finally, David Zeldin is the 2nd Vice President and Treasurer of the New York Military Academy Association of Graduates, and an active member in numerous other professional and civic organizations, including Kiwanis International, and F. & A.M. and the Fraternal Order of Police.
David E. Zeldin has served as the Corporate Director of Security, Safety and Risk Management, or Director of Loss Prevention, of a delivery and trucking company (with multiple Warehouses and Distribution Centers), an alarm company and a payroll company, in addition to the Nassau County Probation Department. Previously, David served in the same capacity for, two different Coffee and Food Companies, selling to the office and business/school markets; A six store Retail Specialty Chain, A five store Grocery Company; A Jewelry Wholesaler; A Platinum Manufacturer; An International Diamond Dealer; A large Truck Dealership and three different automobile “Mega Dealers,” with multiple franchises in each organization. In addition to conducting various undercover investigations and numerous security and safety surveys in each business, David handles everything for Security, Safety and Risk Management, as if he was a corporate executive, even though he is a consultant. These tasks include designing and implementing physical and operational security; OSHA; testifying in civil and criminal trials, including Grand Jury testimony; background investigations of applicants and vendors; Contract enforcement; Alarm , CCTV and Security Guard contracts; key/access control; Writing company policy manuals; Establishing office staff procedures and even negotiating insurance coverage.
After having received the coveted Eugene R. Fink Memorial Award from ALDONYS, in 1998, having been recognized by his peers as being the most valuable member of the organization, David was again recognized by ALDONYS, in 2006, when he received a Special Recognition Service Award for a Lifetime of Public Service and for bringing the highest level of positive recognition to the Investigative and Security field, through his tireless efforts both within the field and in public service. In 2008, David was again honored to receive the Chapter Member of the Year Award, from the Long Island Chapter of ASIS International. In 2010, David was honored by New York Military Academy, with the Meritorious Service Award.

PRO BONO
David has served the People of Nassau County, NY, since October, 2001, as Director of Security of the Nassau County Probation Department. In this position, David has been appointed as a Probation Officer and, as such, is a Sworn NYS Peace Officer. After taking four weeks off from his business activities, In January, 2002, David graduated from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Academy. Mr. Zeldin proudly donates a minimum of one full day, each week, to this Public Sector, pro bono task. In addition to being responsible for the physical security of the Probation Department’s offices in Mineola, Westbury and Hempstead, Officer Zeldin is also responsible for all identification within the Department. Officer Zeldin’s responsibilities also include being the Inventory Control Officer of the Department. David Zeldin receives the same annual Firearms instruction and annual 21 hours of in-service training as all full time Probation Officers and qualifies annually on the Hempstead Police Range, with the other Officers, as well as receiving annual Use of Force Training.
In addition to all of his professional and civic volunteer activities, David E. Zeldin often offers his investigative expertise and services to veterans and senior citizens.
Personally, David is married to Nassau County Senior Probation Officer Carol Taub Zeldin (Ret.) and the very proud father of The Honorable Lee M. Zeldin, NYS Senator from the 3rd Senate District of New York.
