Gerry Holler Advisory Director

As Director of Security for Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Gerry is responsible for the
security operations for all Laboratory locations on Long Island.

Gerry has 16 years of experience in the private security sector after serving
21 years in the New York City Police Department in various commands throughout the
city.

Gerry is the president of the Long Island College and University Security Consortium, a
not for profit organization comprised of public safety/security directors from over forty
institutions of higher learning, research, and health systems throughout the Long Island/
Metropolitan area.

Participating members also include ranking officials of federal, state, and local law
enforcement, emergency management, and critical infrastructure entities. The mission
of the consortium is to assist member institutions in maintaining a safe and secure
environment by providing a forum for security, law enforcement, and emergency
management professionals to discuss solutions to common issues affecting our region’s
campus communities.

Gerry is also active in a number of other professional organizations including the
International Association of College Law Enforcement Administrators, Nassau County
Municipal Police Chiefs Association, LI ASIS, the LI Chapter of the American Academy
for Professional Law Enforcement, National Law Enforcement Associates, the LI
Contingency Planning Exchange, and the Energeia Partnership, Class of 2010.

Gerry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College.
